Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Impact Model Portal (our modelling tool for comparing funding opportunities — the "Service"). By signing in or using the Service you agree to them. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.

The short version

  • Access is by invitation or approved email domain, through your Google account — keep that account secure.
  • Your content stays yours. We only use it to run the Service for you.
  • Simulations and AI answers are decision-support, not advice — verify before relying on them.
  • Projects shared with your organisation are visible to everyone in it.
  • Be reasonable: no unlawful use, no breaking or overloading the Service.
  • The Service is provided as-is, without a formal availability guarantee.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by Founders Pledge Ltd, a charity registered in England and Wales (charity number 1162201) and a company limited by guarantee (company number 08565148) — "we"/"us". Contact: info@founderspledge.com.

2. Accounts and access

Access to the Service is restricted: you can sign in only if your email address has been invited or belongs to an approved organisation domain. You sign in with your Google account. Protect that account and tell us promptly if you believe your portal account has been misused. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

We may suspend or disable accounts or organisations that break these terms, create security risks, or are no longer authorised to use the Service.

3. Organisations

Most use of the Service happens inside an organisation. Organisation owners and admins can manage members, projects, quotas, and settings for their organisation. If you use the Service through your employer or another organisation, that organisation may control and access the projects shared with it — see the Privacy & Cookies Policy for details on visibility.

4. Your content

You (or the organisation you belong to) retain all rights to the content you create in the Service — projects, models, chat conversations, and computed results. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process, back up, and display that content in order to provide the Service, and for no other purpose.

You are responsible for what you upload: do not add content you have no right to use, and do not enter personal data about others that they would not expect to be processed here.

Deleting a project permanently deletes its models, chat history, and stored results. We may delete content belonging to accounts or organisations that have been removed.

5. Simulations and AI output are not advice

The Service produces Monte-Carlo simulations, optimisations, and AI-assistant responses. These are modelling aids built on your own inputs and assumptions. They can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading — AI-generated text in particular may contain errors. They are not financial, legal, charitable-giving, or investment advice. You are responsible for verifying results and for any decision you make based on them.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful;
  • probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without our written permission;
  • attempt to access other organisations' data or circumvent visibility rules or quotas;
  • resell access to the Service, or use automated means to place excessive load on it;
  • misuse the AI assistant to generate unlawful or harmful content.

7. Bring-your-own API key

If your organisation stores its own Anthropic API key, requests to the AI assistant are made under your organisation's Anthropic account. Your organisation is responsible for that key, for complying with Anthropic's terms, and for the charges Anthropic bills for its use. We store the key encrypted and use it only to serve your organisation's requests. You can replace or remove it at any time.

8. Quotas, availability, and changes

Usage quotas (for AI tokens and compute) may apply to your organisation. The Service is under active development: features may change, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without a formal service-level guarantee.

9. Intellectual property

The Service's software, design, and documentation belong to Founders Pledge Ltd. These terms give you no rights in them other than the right to use the Service.

10. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy & Cookies Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence). Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control; and our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount (if any) your organisation has paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Service or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you use the Service as a consumer you keep any mandatory protections of your local law.
